I am passionate about breaking down complex science to invoke curiosity through storytelling, visual media, talks, courses, and educational programs.
I am currently a PhD candidate in the Nano Energy Lab at Johns Hopkins University in the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. My research work focuses on making quantum dots, using them to make new and interesting materials, making solar devices using these novel materials, and testing these new materials and devices to study how they behave.
Beyond the bench, I love to break down jargon into easily digestible info-bites through my social media channel Dhanvini Explores. I like to create content, curricula, and programs geared towards a non-scientific audience to explore science from a lens of curiosity. So that we view science as something to be understood, used, and applied, instead of a mysterious black box. My passion lies in facilitating learning through exploration. I thrive in collaborative spaces where we work together to create new ways to make that happen.
I am also passionate about Indian classical dance and community building. I founded BMore Natyam. This has grown to be a creative dance community of Bharatanatyam dancers looking for ways to come together to learn, create, and grow their art.

I have research experience in experimental techniques such as material synthesis, device fabrication, nanofabrication, thin film processing. I also have expertise in material, optical and electronic characterization techniques. Along with experimental work, I have experience with device simulation software and device data processing. I have served as a course and teaching assistant for courses in electrical and computer engineering, mentored several high school, undergraduate, and graduate students in research. I am passionate about designing curricula and delivering courses in general electronics, nano-materials, and optoelectronics.
